World Elite is committed to the health and safety of our families and communities. The policies and procedures listed below reflect current requirements and best practices. WE know standards will evolve and change over time. Subsequent modifications will be publicized by the gym and will be in effect at that time.

Covid-19

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Full Year cheer (returning and new) will begin the week of May 26th. Recreational classes will begin June 1st. Pre-Team Gymnastics will begin June 2nd. Full Year Gymnastics will begin June 3.
  • Safety stations for athletes have been set up throughout the buildings and include automatic hand sanitizer machines.
  • Cleaning stations are set up in each zone throughout the facility for staff.
  • All hard and soft surfaces are being sanitized on the hour utilizing CDC approved solution and ionizing guns.
  • The facilities have been split up into zones that will keep sanitation records of each zone.
  • Drinking fountains have been removed or blocked off.
  • Athletes and staff will be responsible for bringing their own water bottles.
  • Automatic towel and soap dispensers have been added to the restrooms for touchless access.
  • Signage has been set out to direct the flow of traffic coming in and out of the buildings.
  • Certain areas in the gyms will be closed off to all and have been taped off for guidance.
  • Students will follow designated pathways once inside the building.
  • Lesson planning will eliminate partner and group activities and will be modified to insure safe and proper distancing.
  • Classes will be staggered and class size will be reduced to limit congestion in the common areas.

EQUIPPED EMPLOYEES:

  • Our employees are subject to wellness checks each day. (Wellness policy defined in student safety guidelines)
  • We are following all PPE requirements by the Ohio Department of Health
  • Staff will wash/sanitize hands prior to and at the conclusion of class, practices and in between rotations.
  • Staff will have limited or no physical contact with children for the first phase of reopening followed by spotting as needed for safety.
  • Staff will be thoroughly trained on establishing and maintaining distancing and sanitizing standards.

ENTERING THE BUILDINGS:

Brecksville:

  • Families are asked to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of class/practice.
  • Due to safety procedures, If a student arrives more than 10 minutes after the start of class they will be prohibited from entering.
  • Parking spots closest to the building will be blocked to prevent congestion when entering and exiting.
  • Parents and students will remain in their vehicles until their class is signaled from the entrance. Look for a class sign.
  • Families will be entering at the main door (Door 1) and exiting through the athlete lounge door (Door 2).
  • ONE (1) Parent and student will line up at the front door to go through our safety station where their temperature will be taken and hands will be sanitized prior to entering the building.
  • Once the student is cleared they will be escorted inside where a staff member will take attendance and direct the student to their holding zone.
  • Each zone contains numbered spot markers that the student will stand on until they are called into class.
  • Each zone is defined by a colored pathway that leads out onto the floor. Students will remain on these pathways in the transition to the floor/equipment.
  • Students will bring their belongings with them to their warm up zone. (Belongings are defined in student safety guidelines and are very limited)

Tallmadge:

  • Families are asked to arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of class/practice.
  • Due to safety procedures, If a student arrives more than 10 minutes after the start of class they will be prohibited from entering.
  • Rows 1 & 2 of the parking lot will be blocked off where no parking will be permitted. Parking will only be available from the 3rd row back.
  • Parents will park for drop off and pick up.
  • Parents and students will remain in their vehicles until their class is signaled from the entrance. Look for a class sign.
  • ONE (1) Parent and student will line up at the front door to go through our safety station where their temperature will be taken and hands will be sanitized prior to entering the building.
  • Ages 6 & up – Parents can return to their vehicle once the student has gone through the safety station.
  • Preschool – Parents will escort their child inside.
  • Once the student is cleared they will be escorted inside where a staff member will take attendance and direct the student to their designated holding zone.
  • Each zone contains numbered spot markers that the student will stand on until they are called into class.
  • Each zone is defined by a colored pathway that leads out onto the floor. Students will remain on these pathways in transition to the floor / equipment.
  • Students will bring their belongings with them to their warm up zone. (Belongings are defined in student safety guidelines and are very limited)

EXITING THE BUILDINGS:

Brecksville:

  • Students will exit out of Door 2.
  • Parents will park and walk to door 2 to retrieve the student.
  • A World Elite Staff member will be outside to call each student as parents arrive.
  • At the end of class/practice, students will follow a pathway to make a final trip to the Sanitization Station.
  • Students will stand on numbered place markers until called individually for dismissal.

Tallmadge:

Classes ages 6 & up and ALL team athletes

  • Students will exit out the back door, located at the end of the building / parking lot.
  • Parents will park and walk to the back door to retrieve the student.
  • A World Elite Staff member will be at the door to call each student as parents arrive.
  • At the end of class/practice, students will follow a pathway to make a final trip to the Sanitization Station that is located in the Dismissal zone.
  • Students will remain on numbered place markers until called for dismissal.

> Preschool

  • Students will exit through Miss Katie’s Preschool Door at the front of the building.
  • Student and parent will follow the pathway that leads through Miss Katie’s Preschool Room to exit.
  • At the end of class students will make a final trip to the Sanitization Station before leaving the preschool room.

STUDENT SAFETY GUIDELINES:

  • The wellness policy is a commitment to adhere to self assessments including temperature checks, physical distancing, and 24 hours of no-symptoms to participate in programs at World Elite.

  • Temporal scanners require (1) one degree to be added to the temp recorded
  • One parent must be present while a student/athlete is having their temperature taken.
  • If temperature is above 100.4, the student will be asked to leave.
  • Students and athletes will be required to sanitize their hands upon entry to the facility.

  • Students and athletes will be required to wash or sanitize hands during water breaks or in between rotations.
  • Students should bring a ziplock bag containing the following items: 1-2 water bottles filled, mask/face guard, hand sanitizer, athletic tape if needed.

PARENT SAFETY GUIDELINES:

  • For the first phase of reopening, parent viewing will not be available for athletes ages 6 & up.
  • In Brecksville, Preschool parents (ages 3-5) will remain in a designated area in the gym while classes are in session.
  • In Tallmadge, Preschool parents (ages 3-5) will remain upstairs in the loft while classes are in session.

  • Class students will need to register for the new class schedule
  • Team athletes will be pre-registered into their team / level
  • Tuition will be posted on the first (1st) of the month and charged to the card on file the sixth (6th) of the month

PHASES:

World Elite has a comprehensive set of policies and procedures with three phases of reopening – each phase mandates different degrees of precaution and safety, from Phase 1, the most controlled, to Phase 3, our ‘back to normal’ level. New policies and procedures will be sent out upon entering a new phase.

Governor Dewine released June 18th 2020 that Ohio is moving to Phase 2 in Sports beginning Monday June 22nd.  This allows contact practice and training regiments for all contact sports.  The following safety protocols will be observed.

Competitive Cheer

  • Practices will phase in from 1 time per week to 2 times per week
  • Practices will phase in from 1 hour to 1+ hours
  • We are hoping to be practicing in our newly placed teams by the week of July 6th
  • All social distancing requirements will be met during these times
  • We will continue to maintain physical distancing during the entry and exit of the building and individual skill work during practice
  • All entry and exit protocols will remain
  • “Group skills” are defined as skills where athletes are in a group and make physical contact with each other (i.e. Stunts, Pyramids and Baskets)
  • Coaches will minimize the exposure by keeping groups the same during the given practice this first week of June 22nd
  • We are closed the week of June 28th
  • Athletes will sanitize hands prior to and after any group skills
  • The use of masks during group skills is recommended but not mandatory
  • We will begin with stunting in separate groups and not participating in pyramid or basket work until July practices

Classes

  • Recreational classes to reopen on June 1, 2020.
  • Customers will need to register for new classes, as class times have been adjusted to accommodate distancing guidelines and ratios.
  • Lesson planning will reflect 6’ – 12’ physical distancing between individual students and athletes.
  • During the phase in periods, equipment may be limited. With this being said, World Elite will do everything to make sure that all students receive equal time on the equipment.

Competitive Gymnastics

  • Competitive Gymnastics practice will begin Wednesday, June 3
  • Team will be phased back into training with 2 hour practice times.
  • Team will be split into two groups to accommodate staffing & ratios
  • Group 1 Monday / Wednesday / Friday 10:00-12:00
  • Group 2 Monday / Wednesday 1:00-3:00
  • Preteam will resume practice on Tuesday, June 2
  • Practice times for Preteam will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00-11:00
